Mid-IR LEDs and detectors

PPC-BAH has developed  LEDs, LED arrays, dual color LEDs and spectrally matched detectors. The quantum-well structures of the devices are grown using an advanced Molecular Beam Epitaxy (“MBE”) machine, which allows for precise tuning of the spectral response of the devices from 2 to 10 µm. We offer a unique technology of mid-IR LED arrays that can be used for testing infrared vision and tracking systems.

The next figure show performance of 1 and 2-stage cascade LEDs at room temperature. The 2-stage cascade LED  generated optical power as high as 11 mW at room temperature.
